| About Event | Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (School of Nursing in collaboration with Can Protect Foundation) will be celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness an annual global health campaign on 31 st October 2023. Its primary goal is to raise awareness about breast cancer, encourage early detection through regular screenings, and promote education and support for individuals affected by the disease. The campaign features the iconic pink ribbon as a symbol of solidarity and support for breast cancer survivors and those currently battling the disease. |

| AIM of the Events | 1. Early Detection: Promote the importance of early detection through regular breast self-exams, which can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment. 2. Education: Provide information about breast cancer, its types, stages, and risk factors, to ensure that people have a comprehensive understanding of the disease. 3. Empowerment: Empower individuals with knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their health, including understanding their own risk factors and how to reduce them. 4. Community Engagement: Foster a sense of community and solidarity among breast cancer survivors, their families, and the general public to reduce stigma and encourage open discussions. 5. Prevention: Highlight lifestyle choices and habits that can reduce the risk of developing breast cancer, such as maintaining a healthy diet and exercise regimen and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. |

| Content of the Event | School of Nursing in collaboration with the Can Protect Foundation is organizing a breast awareness campaign, that aims to educate and support breast cancer-related initiatives.
